Verneda (Neufelder) Atteberry, 90, of Fort Branch, IN, peacefully passed away
on December 30, 2014 at her daughter’s home in Fort Wayne, IN.
Neda was born on May 18, 1924, in Fort
Branch.
She was married to Charles Atteberry for
66 years until his death in 2008. Neda and
Charles owned and operated the Marathon Gasoline Station and John Deere
dealership on Locust Street until retirement.
Neda was a Pink Lady volunteer at Princeton
General Hospital. She was a Girl Scout leader, camp director, and helped
form a three county Leadership Council for Girl Scouts of America. Neda was a charter member of Psi Iota Xi in Fort Branch, a
town board member, and was President of the PTA at Marlette Grade School.
Through her love of nature and love of community, she pioneered a Ft. Branch
beautification project.
Neda was preceded in death by her brothers
Bill, Bud, Logan and Charlie Neufelder, and sisters Rosemary Neufelder and
Marietta Jones.
She is survived by three daughters, Tamara Dyer (Jack) of Fort
Wayne, IN, Marcia Callis (Dwight) of Martinsville, IN, and Bobbie Richardson
(Jerry) of Benicia, CA. She is the proud grandmother of seven
grandchildren and ten great grandchildren who loved and knew her as
Grams. Also surviving her are one sister, Alberta Conner and two
brothers, Leo and Darwin Neufelder.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Stodghill Funeral Home on Hwy 168 in Fort Branch on January
3, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with calling one hour prior.
