Marilyn Joan Barfield, 82, of Princeton, went to be
with her Lord, Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, while surrounded by her family. She was
born in Omaha, Nebraska Aug. 6, 1932 to Glen and Blanche (Lamb) Plowman. On
Nov. 15, 1952, she was married to Melvin Barfield who survives her.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great
grandmother that not only loved her family but also loved the Gospel. She was a
home maker that sacrificially gave for her family.
She is also survived by sons; Michael (Rhonda)
Barfield of St. Charles, Missouri, Steven (Anna) Barfield of Germany, Brad
(Rhonda) Barfield of Winchester, Kentucky and Eric (Kathy) Barfield of
Columbia, S.C.
Also daughters; Jane (George) Ferguson of New Bern,
North Carolina, Joan (Marty) Alden of Princeton and Diane (Gene) Houston of
Marion, North Carolina.
Other survivors include brothers; Richard Plowman of
Waco, Texas, Dale (Marilyn) Plowman of Omaha, Nebraska, Gale (Juliet) Plowman
of Sioux City, Iowa, Ray (Carolyn) Plowman of Oskaloosa, Iowa and sisters;
Yvonne Reeves, Ruth Brown, Barbara (John) Schulteiss
of Anna, Illinois, Nancy Veldheizen of Oskaloosa,
Iowa, Kathy Plowman of Nebraska and Linda (Claire) Thoreson
of Sioux City, Iowa, 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
There was a memorial service and celebration of
life that took place on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014 at Bethel Memorial Church with
Pastor Kevin Wilson officiating.
Doyle Funeral Home assisted the family with
arrangements.
