Gordon R. Sloan, 73 passed away Friday Oct. 17, 2014
at his home in Princeton following a sudden illness.
He was born Feb. 12, 1941 in Princeton to Clarence
Sloan and LaDonne (Sinkhorn)
Sloan McEllhiney.
He retired as Production Manager of Red Door Industries in Washington, IN. He
had lived in Princeton for several years living in Denver Colorado for 15 years
where he was assistant hotel manager. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp from
1961-1965. He was a member, Past Exalted Ruler and currently serving as
Chaplain of the Princeton Elks Lodge #634. He was also a member of the American
Legion Post 25, V.F.W. and the Eagles Arie 361.
Gordon is survived by his wife, Kaye (Scott) Sloan of Princeton; 2 daughters Sheralynn “Shorty” Sloan of Cleveland OH; Cinda Sloan of Princeton and son, Scott (Tina) Sloan of
Knoxville, TN; 2 brothers, Larry (Cathy) Sloan of Princeton; Mike (Sandy)
Sloan, Francisco; 3 granddaughters, Hailey, Macon and Merritt, 2 grandsons
Austin and Devin
He was preceded in death by his parents, younger brother, Pat Sloan, and his
step-father, Louis “Red” McEllhiney
There will be gathering of family and friends from until 2 until 6 p.m. Sunday,
October 26, 2014 at the Eagles Lodge, 301 N. Hart St. Princeton.
