Rose Ellen Rumble, 86, passed away on Sunday, Oct.
5, 2014 at VNA Plus Charlier Deaconess Home and
Hospice Center.
She was born March 7, 1928 in Owensville the
daughter of Hurshell and Alice (Armstrong) Mason.
In 1946, she married Glenn A. Rumble.
Rose graduated from Owensville High School (Kickapoos) in 1946. She was a member of the Owensville
First Christian Church, Vanderburgh Humane Society, Muscular Dystrophy
Association, Fidelis Circle and retired from Deaconess Hospital after many
years of service. Rose's humility allowed her to love everyone and make them
feel very special. Those that knew her will always remember her potato salad
and pumpkin pie recipe as well as her singing the Star Spangled Banner.
Rose is survived by her children, Diane Maglinger, Daniel Rumble, David (Jill) Rumble Allen
(Annette) Rumble; daughter-in-law, Connie Rumble; grandchildren, Christine Maglinger Hubbard, Bryan Maglinger,
Christopher Rumble, Crystal Jones, Tonia Benefield,
Dan, Mike and Brandon Rumble, Josh Hoskins; great-grandchildren, Scotty, Cryshelle, Baily, Katie Lynn, Abigail, Cassidy, Jordon,
Alexa Jade, April, Mikey; sister, Jane Hopkins of Colorado; brother, Jack Mason
of New Jersey; nieces, nephews, cousins, church brothers and sisters, neighbors
and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband,
Glenn on March 20, 2005, sons, Ronnie and Jim Rumble.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday Oct. 10,
at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville with Bart Newton officiating. Rose loved
the beauty of horses and they will be leading her to her final earthly resting
place in the Owensville Cemetery via a 1906 Rock Falls horse drawn hearse by
two Black Percheron horses.
Visitation will be held on Thurs. Oct. 9 from 4-8
p.m. and again on Friday from noon until service time at the funeral home.
