Elder George T. Jackson Jr., 64 of Evansville, passed
away Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Deaconess VNA Plus Charlier
Hospice Center in Evansville.
He was born June 3, 1950 in Princeton to the late
George Jackson Sr. and Flora Jackson.
He had lived in Evansville for the past year, coming
from Princeton. He was a member of the Patoka Church of God in Christ. He
worked for the past 25 years through the International Union of Operating
Engineers, Local 181. He had also served as pastor of Divine Guidance Church
for 5 years. He served for 4 years in the Army Reserve.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa (Hawkins) Jackson of Evansville; 7 children,
Derrick Jackson and Kendra (Kevin) Goines both of
Evansville, George Jackson of Hawaii, Jared and Robert Jackson both of
Princeton, Julia Hawkins of Indianapolis and Jessica Hawkins of Evansville; 10
grandchildren; 3 sisters, Florena Perkins, Myra
Jackson and Ocia (Warner) Payne all of Princeton; 1
brother, Timothy (Pamela) Jackson of Evansville; and a host of nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, George Jackson III.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 20, 2014 at the Greater
Holy Temple Church, 202 E. Pinkney in Princeton. Burial will follow at the Sand
Hill Cemetery near Lyles Station.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday at
the church. Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton has been entrusted with the
services.
