Wilma Marie Cuzzort, 98,
passed away Thursday, Oct. 8, 2014 at Gibson General Hospital skilled nursing
facility in Princeton which had been her home since 2005.
She was born July 19, 1916 near Johnson, IN the
daughter of Chauncey and Doshia (Crank) Garrett.
Marie as a teenager helped her dad in the store they
had in Johnson, graduated High School and went to college at Oakland City and
became a teacher. She taught school for years at Owensville then went to work
at Potter and Brumfield for 19 years. Marie was a Baptist and a member of
Maumee General Baptist church where she was baptized on Feb. 5, 1950, she
taught Sunday school and Bible school there. Marie loved her dog Spot and the
dog that visited with her in her room at the hospital.
Survivors include her sister, Vada
Lord; brother, Jack (Linda) Garrett; son-in-law, Jack Massey; grandchildren,
nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband,
Melvin Paul; sons, Joe and Larry “Dude”; daughter, Sandra Massey.
Services for Marie will be held on Monday, Oct. 13, at
2:00 p.m. at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville with Pastor Jeff Pinney officiating. Burial will be in the Maumee Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from noon until the service
time at the funeral home.
