Harry S. Sloan, 89, of Princeton passed away on Wednesday,
September 24, 2014 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City.
He was born on February 10, 1925 in Princeton to Dan
and Roda (Lynch) Sloan.
He lived in Princeton all of his life. He served in
the United States Army during WWII. Harry worked for George Cooks & Sons in
the heating and air conditioning business retiring after 41 years in 1987. He
was a member of the VFW, American Legion and was a member of Our Savior
Lutheran Church in Princeton.
He is survived by his wife Flora Mae (Graves) Sloan; 2 sisters, Christine
Pearson of Ft. Branch and Lavada (Arlis)
Cundiff of Princeton; and several nieces and nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons, Mark David Sloan in 2013 and
Harry Samuel Sloan Jr.; 2 brothers, Charles and Bill; 2 sisters Clare and Lena
May and 2 infant brothers.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Colvin
Funeral Home in Princeton, officiated by Rev. John Schmeling.
Burial will be at the Decker Cemetery in Patoka.
Visitation will be from 12 pm until service time on
Sunday at the funeral home. Military graveside services will be conducted by
Retired Military Veterans.
