Michael Dennis Metcalf, 62, of Haubstadt, went home
to the Lord on Wednesday September 17, 2014 at St. Mary's Medical Center
surrounded by his family.
He was born December 13, 1951 in Flint, MI to Floyd
and Annette (Grammatico) Metcalf.
Mike graduated from Southwestern High School in Flint, MI in 1970. He worked at
Burger King since 1968 and became a Franchisee in 1976. He Co-founded the
Rodney Lincoln Golf outing in 1995 to help people with spinal cord injuries.
Mike was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic
Church in Haubstadt, NRA, Red Brush Gun Club, Tri State Franchisee Assoc, National Franchisee Assoc
and Fendrich Men's Club. He was an avid golfer
playing in almost every charity golf scramble. He was an avid reader,
University of Michigan fan, generous supporter of Easter Seals, USI, U of E and
the Boy's and Girl's Club. He was a loving husband and father and adored his
grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Deborah (Brazeal)
Metcalf; son, Anthony Metcalf (Marie) his children, Ebon Wolf, Antonia Metcalf
and Kyra Metcalf, son, Matthew Metcalf and his son Andrew Metcalf, son, Aaron
Metcalf and his children, Dominic Metcalf and Payton Metcalf; sister, Marilyn
Crouch (Merrill) of Oolitic, IN; numerous nieces,
nephews, cousins and thousands of employees and former employees who loved him.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; one child and sisters, Patricia
Gifford and Linda Smorch.
Visitation will be from 2:00 - 8:00 PM Friday September 19, 2014 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave.,
Evansville, IN 47714 with a memorial service at 7:00 pm. Visitation will
continue from 9:30 - 10:00 am Saturday at Sts. Peter
and Paul Catholic Church, 211 N Vine St, Haubstadt, IN 47639.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 am Saturday September 20, 2014
at the church with Fr. Tony Ernst officiating.
Burial will be at Sts. Peter and Paul Church
Cemetery.
