Robert “Mike” Johnson, 64, was released from this
life September 14, 2014 to make his new home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ.
Mike was born at home in Gibson County, Indiana on
November 18, 1949 to Nolie and Grace (Maddex) Johnson.
Mike graduated from Owensville High School class
1967. He considered it an honor to serve his country in the U.S. Army in
Vietnam. He was an Ironworker in the 70's and 80's, joined the U.S. Postal
service in 1986 as a letter carrier. He was postmaster at Hickman and Fulton,
KY. After 17 years of service Mike retired as postmaster in 2003 from the post
office at Princeton, IN. Mike was a faithful servant of his Lord at the
Princeton Christian Church. Mike was also a member of the VFW Post 2714 and the
Wounded Warriors Association.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jowyn (Reed) Johnson; daughters, Cara Johnson and Kylie
(Kevin) Milligan; 7 grandchildren, Whitney Johnson, Cameron Banks, Katelyn
Milligan, Madelynne Whittler, Jada Banks, Leif
Whittler and Jacob Milligan; mother, Grace Johnson; brothers, Dennis (Laura),
Jim (Twyla) Johnson; children of his heart Joshua Seals and Jaimie Martin;
several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and his wonderful church
family.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Nolie Johnson and his mother and father-In-Law, Jim and Kay
Reed.
Services will be held on Thursday, September 18,
2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville with the Revs. Larry Tedrow, Jerry Kennedy and Phil Young officiating. Burial
will be in the Owensville Cemetery with military graveside services being
conducted by the retired military veterans of Gibson County.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday,
September 17 at the funeral home.
