Margaret L. McGuire, 101, of Fort Branch, died
Friday, Aug. 1, 2014 at the Sterling House in Evansville.
She was born Aug. 12, 1912, in Shawneetown,
Illinois, daughter of Arthur and Luella (Coleman) Scates,
who preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her husband,
Richard T. McGuire, in 1982.
She was a founding member of Holy Cross Catholic
Church in Fort Branch. She loved gardening, quilting, sewing, and
crocheting.
She is survived by three children, Richard (Naomi)
McGuire of Wichita, Kansas, Bill (Margaret) McGuire of Indianapolis and Sister
Patricia Ann McGuire, Order of St. Benedict, of Evansville. She is also
survived by three grandchildren, two step grandchildren, seven great
grandchildren, and five step great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial is Tuesday, Aug. 5
at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch, Father Tony Ernst is
the celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 4, from 4-8 p.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home, Fort Branch, and again from 9 a.m.
until service time at the church Tuesday. A rosary will be recited by the
church parish at 7:30 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
