Lois Irene (Vaught) Holder, 88, of Fort Branch,
passed on August 6 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton.
She was born on August 12, 1925 in rural Fort Branch
to Roy and Gertie (Irvin) Vaught, who preceded her in death.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her
husband, Dr. James L. Holder who passed away on April 18, 2010, and her two
sisters, Alice Tenbarge on July 28, 2012 and Ada
Marie Dillman on July 20, 2009.
Lois was a member of the First Presbyterian Church
in Fort Branch where she sang in the choir for many years. She was a charter
member of Fort Branch Psi Iota Xi Sorority. In her early years she had worked Emge Packing Company. She also worked at the Fort Branch
Federal Savings and Loan. She spent many years working alongside her husband in
his dental business.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet (James) Schmitt
of Fort Branch, and two sons, James (Donna) Holder, of Raleigh, N.C., and Bruce
(Sherry) Holder of Fort Branch. She had eight grandchildren, Matthew (Sara)
Schmitt, Curtis Schmitt, Wyatt Schmitt, Mary Beth (Joshua) Pugh, Jennifer
Holder, Grant Holder, Kelsey Holder, and Blake Holder. She has 2 great
grandson, Tristan Schmitt, Colton Schmitt, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Lois will be held at the Stodgill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 in Fort Branch
on Saturday August 9, 2014 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Services will also be held at the funeral home on
Saturday August 9, 2014 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Cory Atkins officiating the
service. Burial with graveside services will be at the Walnut Hill Cemetery
north of Fort Branch.
