Robert “Jr” Hartley of Somerville, entered into rest
Friday, Aug. 22, 2014 at his home after a long illness, surrounded by family
and friends.
He was born Oct. 5, 1934 to Henry and Elsie (McGillem) Hartley.
He was a disabled veteran of the U. S. Army. He
loved fishing, deer hunting, NASCAR and I. U. basketball. He attended Living Word
Fellowship Church in Somerville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son
and infant grandson.
On Sept. 20, 1958 he married Kay (Beverly K. Bilderback) Hartley and she survives, along with sons,
“Sunny” Hartley and wife Kathy of Petersburg, Scott Hartley and Robin Hartley
of Somerville, daughters, Shanna Hartley of Somerville and Lori Reel of
Vincennes, eight grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and a great-great
grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday,
Aug. 26, 2014 at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, officiated by
Pastor Lloyd Jones. Burial in the Somerville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 - 8 p.m. Monday at the
Corn-Colvin Funeral Home. Military rites will be provided by the Oakland City
American Legion Post 256, of which he was a member.
