Donna Kay Bruce, 68 of Oakland City, joined her heavenly father Wednesday Aug. 27, 2014 at home with husband by her side. 

She was born June 24, 1946 in to Homer and Mildred (Street) Corn.

Donna worked at Wirth Hospital for 25 years before retiring to be a full time “Mamaw.”

Donna was a member of McCullough Grove Baptist Church. She deeply loved her family and enjoyed cooking large family dinners for them. She also loved shopping and traveling.

She was preceded in death by parents Homer and Mildred Corn, granddaughter Jada Bailey and father-in-Law Hobart Bruce.

Surviving by her loving and devoted husband of 51 years Jerry Bruce; sons, Rick (Beth) Bruce of Princeton, Rod (Michelle) Bruce and Randy Bruce of Oakland City; daughter-in-law, Katrina Bruce of Evansville; grandchildren; Nicki (Faim) Eckert, Ariel (Kody) Bruce, Josh (Kellie) Bruce, Andrea Wirth, Jerrica Bruce, Samantha McGowan, Makenzie Bruce, and Madison Bruce, seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Bob (Carol) Corn of Arvada, Colorado and Darrell “Butch” (Rena) Corn of Oakland City; mother-in-law Thelma Bruce of Oakland City; brother-in-laws, Jack (Sharon) Bruce of Princeton, Jeff (Mary) Bruce of Oakland City; sisters-in-laws, Pam Cavett of Oakland City, and Patsy (Don) Kring of South Bend.  Several nieces and nephews. Traveling buddies and great friends Cliff and Helen Hodgen and shopping partner and friend Karen Earles.

Services will be Monday Sept. 1, 2014 10 a.m. at McCullough Grove Baptist Church, with burial in Montgomery Cemetery. Rev. Kenneth Thomas and Rev. Jacob Frantz will be officiating.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel and from 8 a.m. until services on Monday at Church.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. E. Steed Jackson and Deaconess VNA Plus Hospice.
