Evelyn M. (Bell) Stone, 92 of Somerville, passed
away Wednesday, July 30, 2014.
She was born Nov. 3, 1921 in Gibson County to Hosea
A. and Frieda A. (Meier) Usery, who preceded her in
death.
She was a member of Clark’s Chapel Church of
Somerville and the Red Hat Society. She retired as a cook at Gibson
General Hospital in Princeton and also was a beautician in her home, Bells
Beauty Shop.
She is survived by her four children, Sharon S.
(Don) Colvin of Mackey, Marilyn K. (Wayne) Johnson of Evansville, Steven M.
Bell (fiancee Veronica) of Winslow and Debbie A.
McKnight of Somerville; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two
great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Marietta Ferguson of Evansville.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband,
Donald Bell in 1979; second husband, Carl Stone in 2000; a son, Larry Wayne
Bell; three sisters, Lucille Ingram, LaVerne Heironimus and Martha Jean Gieselman;
a granddaughter, Teresa Hayes; two sons-in-law, Kevin C. McKnight and Bill
Phelps; a daughter-in-law, Cindy L. Bell.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday,
August 3, 2014 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with Pastor Alec
Hensley officiating. Burial will follow at Somerville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 - 8 p.m. Saturday and
again from noon until the service hour on Sunday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home.
