Roy E. Stewart, 88, of Hazleton passed away on
Monday, July 7, 2014 at Gibson General Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility in
Princeton.
He was born on April 7, 1926 in Princeton, IN to
John and Delta (Martin) Stewart.
He retired from Emge
Packing Company after 28 years. He was a United States Navy Veteran who served
in WWII. He was a member of the Oasis Assembly of God in Princeton.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Beatrice Stewart of Hazleton; 2
daughters, Phyllis (Jim) Lucas of Alabama and Deanna (Clarence) Cornwell of
Hazelton; 6 grandchildren, David, Dianne, Daniel, Rachel, Roy and Josh; 9 great
grandchildren; 3 sisters, Luella White, Betty Stewart and Dorthy
Stewart; and 2 brothers, Sam and Bob Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and 4 brothers, Sylvester, John, Orvelle and Larry Don Stewart.
Graveside Services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Columbia
White Church Cemetery in Princeton, officiated by Pastor Jeff Enochs.
No public visitation. Colvin Funeral Home in
Princeton is in charge of arrangements. Military graveside services will be
conducted by retired military veterans.
