Wayne Bryant, 82, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014
at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton.
He was born March 10, 1932 in Nebo, Kentucky to the
late John Walter Bryant and Anna Belle (Keeney) Bryant.
He moved to Patoka, Indiana from Providence,
Kentucky in 1965 where he owned and operated Bryant Sawmill, he then moved to
Floyds Knobs, Indiana in 1975 and worked for Wood Mosaic in Louisville and also
owned Bryant Veneers in New Albany, Indiana, he then moved to Newburgh, Indiana
in 2009 and then to Princeton in 2012. He was a member of Columbia Masonic
Lodge 450 in Patoka, past-president of Patoka Lions Club and the Patoka Futures,
also member of Hadi Shrine Temple in Evansville and
the Elks Lodge in New Albany. He also held the distinction of being awarded the
Sagamore of the Wabash and was a Kentucky Colonel.
Wayne is survived by his four children, Anna Cheryl Decker of Evansville, Donna
D. (Don) Bishop of Patoka, Alicia A. (Kent) Newton of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and
David W. J. (Deana) Bryant of Dublin, Ohio; seven grandchildren and six great
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Larry Wayne Bryant in 2008 and
his wife of 58 years, Larry Ann (Hudson) Bryant in 2008.
Visitation will be from 4 until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Colvin
Funeral Home, 425 North Main Street, Princeton, Indiana, with Columbia Masonic
Lodge conducting a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Melton
Funeral Home, 206 Cedar Street in Providence, Kentucky with visitation there
from noon until the service hour. Pastor Brian Gibson will officiate. Burial
will follow at Lake View Cemetery in Providence.
