Sharon Sue (White) Willis, 75, passed away Sunday,
June 22, 2014 at her home.
She was born March 10, 1939 in Oakland City, Indiana
to the late Alphonso and Ellen (Abbott) White.
She had been a resident of Avon for the past 12
years, coming from Brown County, Indiana. She graduated high school from Fort
Branch 10 years after marriage, and then soon attained her Licensed Practical
Nurse licensure. She was a member of Eastern Star, Oakland City Golden Girls
1957 and the Cordry Sweetwater Garden Club, and was Coordinator
of the first National Guard Children’s Summer Camp at Camp Atterbury.
She loved picnics and gatherings of all kinds with her family, garage sales and
reading.
She is survived by her wonderful husband and boyfriend of 58 years, Garry L.
Willis who was from Winslow and they were married at the First General Baptist
Church in Oakland City; a son, Greg A. Willis of Columbus, Indiana; a daughter,
Stacy J. Willis of Indianapolis; a grandson, Scott A. Park of Brownsburg,
Indiana; great grandsons, Ryan and Aslan Park; a
sister, Connie Littlepage and a brother, Terry A.
White (wife, Zenda) all of Newburgh, Indiana;
wonderful nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. CDT Friday, June 27, 2014 at
Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with Dr. John Charles officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Winslow.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. CDT Thursday
and again from 10 a.m. until the service hour on Friday at the funeral home.
