Joyce Isabel Huey Kirk
was born in Wheeling, Indiana, Jan. 27, 1930, to Ralph and Omega Huey.
She went home to be
with The Lord June 2nd 2014.
She and her siblings
grew up on a farm, graduating from high school in Princeton, IN. (She
celebrated her 65th Class reunion 2 years ago.) She graduated from Lockyear’s Business College, Evansville, IN and began her
career at an engineering firm in Chicago. She subsequently was hired by the U S
Government Foreign Service as a Regional Executive Assistant in Manila,
Philippines, traveling extensively through the Near and Far East, Africa, and
Europe. She then found employment at a prestigious law firm in Chicago.
She married Norbert
Kirk on Dec. 25, 1973 and moved to Phoenix in 1994 and became a realtor.
Norbert preceded her in
death in 2005. Also preceding her in death were her parents, 2 brothers, and 1
sister.
She is survived by her
sister, Carol Garrett (Frank) of Owensville, IN, a nephew, Monte Garrett
(Cynthia), great niece Haley, great nephew, Hunter, of Evansville, IN, nieces
Jane (Mike) Conn, Douglasville, GA, and Loretta (Tom) Karkhoff
of Naperville, IL. She also is survived by her fiancé, Joel Woodman of Sun City
West, AZ. as well as other nephews, nieces and friends.
A memorial service will
be held Monday, June 9, at Grace Bible Church in Sun City, Arizona. Interment
will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
