Rosetta “Rosie” Hamm, 93, of Oakland City, Indiana
passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland
City.
She was born May 31, 1921 in Oakland City, to Thomas
and Avis (Holt) Rutter.
She has lived in the Oakland City area most of her
lifetime. She was a homemaker and was a “Rosie the Riveters” during World War
II. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church of Oakland City for 60
years and the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years.
She is survived by her son Bill Hamm (Bonnie Smith) and Phil (Mellanie) Hamm of Oakland City, IN; 3 grandchildren, Chris
(Erin) Hamm, Jason (Sara) Hamm, and Stephanie (Jeff) Andrews; 6
great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene Hamm in 1986; 1 brother
and 5 sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM Thursday July 3, 2014 at First General
Baptist Church in Oakland City, with Dr. John Sloan officiating. Burial will be
at the Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday
at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City. A family dinner will be at church
following the service.
