Lydia Mae (Straw) Farmer, 73, passed away Friday,
June 20 2014 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.
She was born in Crawleyville
April 22, 1941, the daughter of Curtis Orville and Beulah (Moore) Straw.
Lydia was a homemaker who dearly loved being with
her children, grandchildren and great–grandchildren. She loved to shop, cook
and have family get togethers. Her specialty was
frying chicken. She liked dressing up and loved her jewelry. She was the kind
of person that when you met her, you loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, John;
six children, Roxanna (Mark) Walther, Sherry (Steve) Wilson, Sandi (Tom) Moxley, Johnna (Eric) Meny, John L. Jr. and Jeremy Farmer; 10 grandchildren,
Sarah Walther, Amy Roberts, Travis Wilson, Kimberly Griess,
Stephanie and Warren Moxley, Lacie
and Erica Meny, Megan Mitchell and Jennifer Farmer;
seven great-grandchildren, Noah, Madisyn and Bailey Roberts, Dane and Sommer Griess, Gaby Mitchell and
Brenton Farmer; two sisters, Martha Barker and Sharon Dillon; two brothers,
Curtis Lee and James Straw; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters,
Phyllis Varner and Judie Bybee; brother, Don Straw.
Services will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at
Holders Funeral Home in Owensville at 10 a.m. with Bob Douglas officiating.
Burial will be in Owensville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the
funeral home.
