John F. Saylor Jr., age 73 of Marshall, IL and formerly of Princeton, IN died Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN.

John served in the U. S. Navy, Seabees Division, and was a Vietnam veteran. He retired from Peabody Energy (formerly Old Ben Coal) after more than 30 years of service. 

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty A. Saylor, his daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Greg McKee of Marshall, IL, and two grandsons, Kyle McKee (fiance') Kimber Hawkins of Plainfield, IN and Clint McKee of Marshall. He is also survived by a brother, Jerry Saylor, and a sister, Beverly Lucas, both of Princeton. 

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Rebecca, and by his parents, John F. Saylor Sr. and Marjorie Saylor. 

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Rev. Ron Marsh officiating. Burial will follow at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday at Colvin Funeral Home.
