Alberta A. Elpers, 79, of
Haubstadt, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
She was born to the late Emery and Henrietta (Buttman) Koberstein on April 14,
1935 in Haubstadt.
Bert as she was known to her many friends, was a beautician
in Haubstadt for many years. She was a member of the Sts.
Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, a member of the Haubstadt
Daughters of Isabella Chapter 151, and was an avid golfer.
Besides her parents she is also preceded in death by
2 brothers, Elmer and Alvin Koberstein.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Kenneth Elpers, 2 sons, Duane (Peg) Elpers
and Lynn Elpers both of Haubstadt, daughter in-law,
Cheryl Elpers of Haubstadt, 7 sisters, Thelma Seib of Princeton, Sister Elizabeth Ann Koberstein
of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Virginia Wilzbacher of
Evansville, Lila Simon of Haubstadt, Edith Baehl of
Haubstadt, JoAnn Heyer of Pembrook
Pines, Florida, Norma Purer of Littleton, Colorado, and four brothers, Emory,
Linus, Marion, and Merle Koberstein all of Princeton,
four grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Hoesli, Jacob, Brant,
and Evan Elpers. Also a great grandchild which is due
in August. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted on
Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the Sts. Peter and Paul
Catholic Church in Haubstadt, at 11 a.m. with Fathers Tony Ernst and Brian Emmick the co-celebrants, burial will be in the church
cemetery.
Visitation will be on Monday, May 12, 2014 from
2-8-p.m. at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on
Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, IN and again from 9 a.m. until service time at
the church on Tuesday.
