Barbara J. Young, 79 of Francisco, passed away Thursday April 3, 2014 at her home in Francisco.

She was born July 5 1934 in Princeton. 

She was a homemaker a member of Francisco General Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She was a member of the Francisco Rebekah Lodge. She loved to cook and enjoyed taking care of her family and spending time with them. 

Surviving are her husband of 61 years Lyle Young, whom she married May 16, 1952; a son, Greg Young of Oakland City; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon (Max) Deputy of Francisco; two sisters, Shirley (David) Tyree of Houston, TX and Theresa (Jimmy) Smutniak of Lowell, IN; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and brother-in-law Glenn (Marilyn) Young of Francisco. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Grubb and Marie (Brubeck) Grubb Hope; and daughter-in-law, Paula Young. 

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, officiated by Pastor Scott Pelkington. Burial will follow in the Francisco Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
