Larry “Ray” White, 63 of
Union, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in
Evansville.
He was born in Wheeling,
Dec. 1, 1950 to Joe and Beulah Maxine (Campbell) White.
He attended Oatsville, Union and Petersburg schools. Ray also served in
the Vietnam War in 1970 – 1971. He was a truck driver for Randall Cannon
Trucking of Petersburg, Larry Kessler Trucking of Daylight, Tichenor
Trucking of Princeton and Gibco Trucking of
Evansville.
He married Brenda Lee Deweese July 4, 1983 in Glezen,
Indiana, they had one daughter, Robin Nicole White.
Ray is survived by his
mother, Beulah Maxine White of Union; a daughter, Robin Nicole White of
Owensville; two step-sons, Michael Joe Abell and
Timothy Lee Abell of Princeton; and by choice a
willing non-biological daughter, Korri Jean Walther
of Owensville; a twin sister, Helen Kay Reneer of
Union; a brother, Michael (Jenna) White of Union; a sister-in-law, Dian White
of Seneca, Ill.; two grandchildren, Gage Ray Lee White and Jaylin Jo Nicole
Brown of Owensville; 11 step-grandchildren and four great
step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in
death by his wife, Brenda Lee Deweese in 2003; his
father, Joe White in 1993; a brother, Daniel Joe White in 2006; a sister, Nancy
Lou White in 1953; a brother-in-law, Bill Reneer in
2014; and grandparents, Warner and Sarah Campbell and Azel
and Helen White.
Ray had several
special friends and relatives. He loved to go to the Sullivan Grocery and Diner
in Union. Ray will be sadly missed, but will live in our hearts and
memories forever.
Funeral services
will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Colvin Funeral Home in
Princeton, with Rev. Wayne Rowland and Rev. Bob Douglas officiating.
Burial will follow at Union Community Cemetery in Union.
Visitation will be
from 2 until 4 p.m. Saturday at Colvin Funeral Home. Military rites will
be provided by retired military veterans.
