Jerry B. Driskell, 83, of
Princeton passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Gibson General Hospital in
Princeton.
He was born June 4, 1930 in Princeton, Indiana to
Carl Clifford & Mildred Lucille (Byrne) Driskell.
He retired in 1994 after 41 years with Princeton, Contel, and G.T.E. Telephone Company. He was a member of
the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1147, American Legion Post 25, Fraternal
Order of Eagles #361, and Independent Telephone Pioneers Association. He served
in the United States Army from 1951 -1953 during the Korean War, where he
earned The Bronze Star.
He is survived by his stepson Donald R. Brown and
daughter-in-law Cheryl Brown of Princeton; grandchildren, Mrs. Diana Harris,
Larry G. Brown, Jr., Mark A. Brown, and Amy M. Laird; and great grandchild,
Colin Laird.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois V. (Larkins) Driskell in 1994; his
brother, Carl Jack Driskell; sister, Joann Driskell; and stepson, Larry G. Brown Sr.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 22,
2014 at 1 p.m. at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Jonathan
Scott officiating. Burial will be at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton.
Friends may
visit from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday. Retired Military Veterans will provide
full military rites at the cemetery or at Colvin Funeral Home.
