George E. "Eddie" Pruitt, age 72 passed
away Monday, March 31, 2014 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. He was
born November 25, 1941 in Haubstadt to George W. and Mary Lou (Hisker) Pruitt. He resided most of his life in
Haubstadt. Eddie was the current Johnson Township Trustee. He
retired as a security guard and was the former head of security at Deaconess
Hospital. He had worked security at several area businesses including Emge Packing Co., Gibson Generating Station and Azteca
Milling.
Eddie was a lifetime of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic
Church. He was active in the Gibson County Democratic Party and was one
of the founding board members of The Haubstadt Sommerfest.
He was preceded in death by his father George W. Pruitt.
Eddie is survived by his mother, Mary Lou Pruitt of Haubstadt (currently River
Oaks); one sister, Karen (Ed) Kyle of Haubstadt. Two nephews; Greg
(Shellie) Kyle of Haubstadt and Mike (Cathy) Kyle of Greenwood. 4
great-nieces, Breanna, Alexis, Isabelle and Ava Kyle. 1 great-nephew, Ian
Kyle.
Eddie will be greatly missed by all who knew him and enjoyed his sense of
humor, intelligence and easy way of engaging those around him in interesting
discussions on a myriad of topics.
A Mass of Christian will be 11:00 AM Friday, April 4 at Sts.
Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church
cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Thursday, April 3 at
Wade Funeral Home with a Rosary service beginning at 3:45 PM. Friends may
also call Friday from 10 to 11 AM at the Church.
