Marvin Wayne Mason, age 77, of DeWitt, Iowa,
formerly of Spurgeon, Indiana, passed away at 9:17 p.m., Monday, March 10,
2014, at the Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa.
He was born August 10, 1936 in Gibson County, Indiana to Seward Edward and Verda Arizona (Elkins) Mason. Marvin graduated from
Spurgeon High School and Lain Tech in Indiana. He served in the United
States Air Force as an Airman 1st Class from 1956-60. Marvin worked as a
computer technician for Deere & Company; following retirement, he went to
work for G.M.B. Auction Service. He was a member of the Huntingburg
United Methodist Church, the V.F.W., and Masonic Lodge #396. He was
preceded in death by: his parents; one sister, Wanda Thomas; and one
brother, Haskell "Hack" Mason.
He is survived by:

Roxanne Baxter of Bellingham, Washington,
Two nephews,
Steven Mason of Garland, Texas,
Danny Thomas, Jr. of Kansas City, Kansas,
Friends and caregivers,
Joan Lass of DeWitt, Iowa,
Stan & Sandy Miller and family of LeClaire, Iowa,
and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Marvin Mason will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Saturday,
March 22, 2014 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in
Huntingburg with burial to follow at Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City,
Indiana. The Reverend Paula Young Mayberry will officiate at the
funeral. Military rites will be conducted at the funeral home by the
V.F.W. Post #2366 Memorial Detail.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son
Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 5:00-7:00 p.m., E.D.T., on Friday, March
21st. A Masonic memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday
evening, at the funeral home.
