Myrl C. (Tharp) Koelling, 94, of Evansville passed away Monday, March 17,
2014, at VNA Charlier Hospice Center.
She was born April 9,
1919, in Pike County.
She was a homemaker and
long-time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She loved Bible study,
sewing, quilting, and gardening. Myrl was a
devoted mom and grandma.
She was preceded
in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl H. Koelling;
granddaughter, Jody Lynn Wirth; parents, Edgar Lee and Lucy Tharp; four
sisters, and one brother.
Myrl is survived by daughter, Mary Frye (Bob)
of Patoka; sons, Cletus Koelling (Brenda) and Carl
Delbert Koelling (Patty) of Oakland City;
grandchildren, Julie Evans, Lori Hollander (Randy), Timothy Koelling,
Tia Matthew (Marcus); seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Myrl’s family would like to extend a special
thank you to Rita Melko (and dog, Abbey) for her care
and devotion, her Immanuel Lutheran Church family, Rev. Kirk Horstmeyer, and the staff of VNA Charlier
Hospice Center.
Services will be
held at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1925 Volkman Road, Evansville, 47725, officiated by Rev. Kirk Horstmeyer, with entombment at Locust Hill Cemetery.
Friends may visit
Wednesday, 4-8 p.m. at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, Evansville,
IN 47714, and Thursday, 9 a.m. until service time at the church.
