LaVern Shoultz 92 of Petersburg, IN entered into rest on Tuesday at Amber Manor Center in Petersburg, IN.

She was born on September 12, 1921 in Pike County to Tom & Dora (Sutton) Miley.

LaVern was member of First Baptist Church in Petersburg, where she was Sunday School Teacher for children and Secretary, treasurer of Missionary Society and Financial Secretary for the Church. Also she was a 4-H leader and Co-sponsor of Rural Youth; Member of Evening Star # 202 of Petersburg (Serving as Noble Grand, Treasurer, District Deputy; President and State Treasurer of Rebekah assembly of Indiana for three years). Member of Ladies Auxiliary Encampment of Indiana (serving as Grand Matriarch and Grand; Treasurer for two years.  And member of Ladies Patriarch’s militant of Indianapolis. Had served as secretary –treasurer of District 9 Farm Bureau two different times.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Harrell Shoultz of Petersburg, IN; Several Nieces and Nephews. 

Services will be 2:30 P.M. EST Saturday March 1, 2014 at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Petersburg, IN. Rev. Chalmer Burden and Dr. Charles Baxter will be officiating. Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
