Roy H. Roethemeier, age
92, of Hendersonville, TN formerly of Haubstadt, IN passed away February 23,
2014 at Hearth Assisted Living in Hendersonville, TN.
He was born in Vanderburgh County, IN on June 8,
1921 to the late Ernest and Annabelle (Dennison) Roethemeier.
He is survived by his wife Mildred (Lutz)and his
children Becky (Mike) Countess of Cottontown, TN,
Dave (Barb) Roethemeier of Fort Branch, IN, Jim
(Denise) Roethemeier of Henderson, KY, Jean (Mark)
Schmitt of Mt. Vernon, IN, Carol (Bud Showers) Holder of Evansville, IN, and
Ken (Tonja) Roethemeier of Goodletsville,TN. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren
and 10 great grandchildren.
He was a member of Sts.
Peter and Paul Church in Haubstadt, IN, Knights of Columbus in Haubstadt, IN
American Legion Post #194 in Haubstadt, IN and a lifetime member of VFW Post
#2714 in Fort Branch, IN and was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army where he was a
recipient of the Purple Heart.
A mass of Christian burial will be conducted for Roy
will be Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 11:00 am with visitation from
9:00 am to service time at Sts. Peter and Paul
Catholic Church with Father Tony Ernst and Father Brian Emmick
are co-celebrants. Burial will be in Sts. Peter and
Paul Cemetery with military graveside services being conducted by Fort Branch
VFW #2714 and Haubstadt American Legion post #194.
Visitation will be Wednesday February 26, 2014
from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Stodghill Funeral
Home in Fort Branch, IN with a rosary beginning at 3:30 prior to
visitation.
