Norman Thomas Memmer, 53, son of Donnie and Elaine Memmer, made his journey to heaven on Tuesday, January 21, 2014.

Norman was born on February 18, 1960 in Princeton, Indiana.

He graduated from Wood Memorial High School in 1978, then graduated from University of Southern Indiana with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services. He retired in 2000 as the Social Services Director from Good Samaritan Home in Oakland City. He attended the First Pentecostal Church in Oakland City. 

He is survived by his brothers and sister, Mark (Julia) Memmer of Buckskin, Wayne (Julie) Memmer of Lynnville, David (Alechia) Memmer of Oakland City, Darrin Memmer of Mackey and Lisa Memmer of Mackey; nephews, Jakob, Ryan, Chris, Josiah and Justin; niece, Erica; and several cousins. He is also survived by his companion dog, Nutmeg. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; and a sister, Donna Young in 1990. 

In the spirit of Norman Thomas’ last will and testament, remains will be buried at Providence Cemetery with a private memorial service at a later date. Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City is in charge of arrangements.
