Oscar
Whitehouse, age 77, of Francisco, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at
Deaconess Hospital Main campus in Evansville, IN.
He was born
on November 3, 1936 in Francisco, IN, to Robert and Agnes (Kendall) Whitehouse,
both of whom precede.
He was
employed on the line at Emge Meat Packing, retiring
after 35 years of service. He has worked the last 21 years as a drag operator
for the Gibson County Garage.
On September
14, 1957, at the Wheeling United Methodist Church, he was married to Thelma
White. He and Thelma just celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary last
September. Oscar was a lifelong area resident and a member of the Wheeling
United Methodist Church for 56 years and also served for 6 years in the
National Guard.
He is
survived by his wife; Thelma of Francisco, IN and son; Kevin (Debra) Whitehouse
of Richmond, VA. Other survivors include his brother; Frank (Carolyn)
Whitehouse of Petersburg, IN and sister; Margaret Ropp
also of Petersburg, IN. granddaughters; Erica & Ashley Whitehouse and
nieces; Susan (Bill) Ropp and Deanna (Jeff) Bush and
nephew Jason (Rebecca) Whitehouse.
Oscar is
preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral
services will be 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Doyle Funeral
Home, located at 520 S. Main St. Princeton, IN 47670. with
Rev. Terry Kamman officiating. Internment will take
place in Mt Olive Cemetery in Mt Olympus, IN.
Visitation
will be on Friday, December 6, 2013 from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral
home.
