Curtis Eugene “Gene” Riley, 75, passed away on
Wednesday December 18, 2013 at Deaconess Hospice Center in Evansville.
He was born March 2, 1938 in Boom, Tennessee, the
son of Pete and Vernie (Garrett) Riley.
Gene ran Gene's Phillips 66 in Johnson in the 70's
before going to work at Hansen's Manufacturing where he retired in June 2003.
He loved fishing on the river, mushroom and rabbit hunting, and working in his
garden.
Gene is survived by his 3 children, Tony (Sandy)
Riley, Mike Riley and Karla (Patrick) Goodman; 5 grandchildren, Kendra, Tonya
and Paige Riley, Shalea and Christopher (Tricia)
Goodman; 1 great-grandson, Luke Goodman; 4 brothers, Ronald (Patty), Kevin
(Jamie), Gary, Kerry (Shirley) Riley; 4 sisters, Phyllis (Frank) Dixon, Brenda
(Robert) Harper, Lana (Jim) Dyson and Debbie (Gene) Harper; stepmother, Chalis Riley; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday, December 21, 2013 at
10:00 a.m. at Holders Funeral Home with Bart Newton officiating. Burial will be
in the Owensville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the
funeral home.
