Deltha
Roberts, 85 of Princeton, passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013 at the Gibson
General Hospital in Princeton.
She was born
June 5, 1928 in Gibson County to McKinley and Ocia
(Lyles) Madison.
She was a
retired custodian for the Gibson County Jail where she worked for 17 years. She
had lived in Gibson County all of her life. She enjoyed chair caning and did
work for many people. She was a member of the Patoka Church of God in Christ in
Patoka, where she served on the Mother’s Board.
She is
survived by her daughter, Willietina Meuser of Princeton; 2 grandchildren, DeJuan
(Lisa) Roberts and LaVonna (Tyson) Armstrong of
Princeton; 3 great grandchildren, Braylen, DeJuan Jr.
and Devan Roberts; 3 sisters, Arminta Brown of
Evansville, Ernestine Chavis and Audrey Madison of
Princeton; 2 brothers, Albert Madison and Lionel Madison of Princeton.
She was
preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Norman, Jasper and McKinley
Madison Jr., 4 sisters, Marjorie Cook, Nancy Roberts, Flora Jackson and infant
Delores Madison.
Funeral
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday Nov. 30, 2013 at the Greater Holy Temple
Church of God in Christ in Princeton with Rev. George Jackson officiating.
Burial will be in the Sand Hill Cemetery in Princeton.
Visitation
will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday
at the Greater Holy Temple Church of God in Christ. Colvin Funeral Home in
Princeton is in charge of arrangements.
