Jesse H. Leffler, 101 of Oakland City, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 19,
2013 at Good Samaritan Home in Oakland City.
He was born
Sept. 1, 1912 in Orange County, Indiana to Volney and
Leona M. (Harlow) Leffler.
He was a
graduate of Monroe City High School and was a farmer. He had resided in Oakland
City since 1965 moving from Princeton. He spent his social time at the former Vep’s Pool Room in Hazleton. He was a former member of the
Columbia Township Fire Department and the Odd Fellows Lodge in Hazleton.
He is survived
by his wife, Carmen N. (Cooper) Leffler to whom he
was married on Dec. 28, 1936 in Monroe City; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Dale
and Sue Leffler and Robert and Diana Leffler of Oakland City; 6 grandchildren, Michael Leffler of New Mexico, Michelle Bush of New York, Kim
Barker of Evansville, Angie Hornby of Oakland City, Kevin Leffler
of Oakland City and Kerry Leffler of Illinois; 4
step-grandchildren, Dave Hale of Vincennes, Chris Hale of Francisco, Kimmi Perry of Princeton and Tina Hutchinson of Francisco;
numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
He was
preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Leffler in 1997.
Funeral
services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 at Corn-Colvin Funeral
Home in Oakland City, with Rev. Matt Malin
officiating. Burial will follow at Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City.
Visitation
will be from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home.
