Margery ( Anslinger) Emge,
98, passed away November 11, 2013 at Newburgh Healthcare Center.
Margery was
born to Anton and Mary (Roeder) Anslinger in
Haubstadt IN on September 22, 1915.
She was
preceded in death by her husband of 71 years Edward; her parents, two brothers,
Justin and Francis, Sister, Marilyn Wilm and three
sons-in-law.
She
graduated from Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic grade
school and Haubstadt high school where she had the distinction of being chosen
as the first cheerleader and crowned the first basketball queen. After high
school, for 12 years she was employed by Hansen Manufacturing in Princeton, IN
After their
marriage in 1940, Margery and Edward resided in Fort Branch IN and were members
of the Holy Cross Catholic Church. There Margery was active in the Altar
Society. She enjoyed bridge and was a member of the Lady Elks in Princeton, IN.
Om 1990, she
and Edward retired to Evansville, IN and became members of Holy Rosary Parish.
She is
survived by three children, Sylvia Deters, Timothy (Mary) Emge
and Rebecca Oing Kincaid: six grandchildren, Erica
Deters, Hans (Shauntrece) Deters, Heinrich (Julie Minahan) Deters, Heidi Deters, Charles Deters and Nathaniel
Emge: four great-grandchildren, Sydney, Shaw, Harley
and Race Deters; six nephews and one niece.
Visitation
will be on Thursday, November 14 from 9:30 to 11:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic
Church in Fort Branch followed by Mass celebrated by Father Tony Ernst and
Father Brian Emmick. Interment will follow at the
Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum.
