Karon S. Anthis, 74 of Patoka, Indiana formerly of Princeton passed
away on Monday, November 25, 2013 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton.
She was born
March 17, 1939 in Princeton, IN to Howard and Barbara (Hill) Lewis.
She was a
member of Patoka United Methodist Church. She retired in 2001 from the Gibson
County Treasurers Office after 24 years. She had also formerly worked at the
Patoka National Bank for several years. She was a loving wife, mother and
grandmother.
She is
survived by her husband of 54 years, Fred Anthis of
Patoka; 5 children, Tammy (Dennis) DeVries of Auburn,
AL, Tricia Kolb of Patoka, Joe (Janine) Anthis, John
(Tabitha) Anthis and Jim (Lora) Anthis
all of Patoka; 13 grandchildren, Stephen (Annie), Zachary (Maryann) and Emily DeVries, Brock Kolb, Alex, Hayden, Jacob and Wyatt Anthis, Blake and Ellie Anthis,
Taylor, Ashlyn and Kyndall Anthis;
brother, Fred (Lynn) Lewis of Nashville, TN; sister, Patricia Willis of
Winslow; brother & sister-in-law, Bill and Pat Anthis;
brother-in-law, Larry Higginbotham; 4 nephews; 3 nieces; and several great
nieces and nephews.
She was
preceded in death by her parents; sister, Linda Higginbotham; and
brother-in-law, Elwood Willis.
Funeral
Services will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the Colvin
Funeral Home in Princeton, with Rev. Jeff Pinney
officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Patoka.
Visitation
will be from 4 until 8 PM on Friday at the Colvin Funeral Home.
