Roy Sapp,
91, passed away Friday, Oct. 18, 2013 at River Oaks Health Campus.
He was born
June 1, 1922 in Reed, KY the son of Alonso C. and Katie Mae (Cambron) Sapp.
Roy served
in the United States Army Air Force from 1941-1945. He retired from Whirlpool
as a security guard. He was a member of the Bethel Memorial Church and the Fort
Branch Masonic Lodge where he had been a past master.
Roy was
preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Velma Gwendolyn (Willingham) Sapp
in 1997, 6 brothers and 4 sisters.
Survivors
include his second wife, Elsie Hornback Sapp; sons,
Roy and Ken (Debra) Sapp; 4 grandchildren, Shaun Allen, Tina Rose, Ashley Rose
and Joshua Allen Sapp; one great-grandchild, Kiersten Nicole Sapp and one on
order; step-son, Donald L. Hornback.
Services
will be Tuesday Oct. 22, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Holders Funeral Home in
Owensville with the Rev. Kevin Wilson officiating. The American Legion Post #
51 will have military rites here at the funeral home. Burial will be in the
Sunset Cemetery in Evansville.
Visitation
will be Monday from 4-8 p. m. at the funeral home.
