Arline
Whitten Riley, 85, of Princeton, Indiana passed away on Thursday, October 31,
2013 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton.
She was born
December 1, 1927 in Princeton, IN to Charles and Anna (Osborne) Whitten.
She was a
lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton where her
memberships included Parish Council, founding member of the Josephines
study group and editor of the Parish History Book. Arline
initiated the funeral greeters and created a photo gallery of Priests and
Religious of St. Joseph Parish. She received the Brute’ Award, the highest
honor a lay person can receive for service to the church. She was retired from
Siemens and the Chamber of Commerce.
She is
survived by her son, Michael Riley of Evansville; son-in-law, David Minnis; 3 grandchildren, Brian Riley, Elizabeth “Beth”
Riley and Carrie Minnis; 4 great grandchildren, Dru and Brady Petit and Logan and Brynn Riley.
She was
preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don Riley in 1986; daughter, Patti Minnis; daughter-in-law, Brenda Riley; and 2 brothers,
Charles and Edgar Whitten.
A Mass of
Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Monday, November 4, 2013 at St.
Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton, Father Ronald Zgunda,
celebrant. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Princeton.
Visitation
will be from 9 AM until service time on Monday at the church. Colvin Funeral
Home is in charge of arrangements.
