James A.
Ray, 66, of Ft. Branch and formerly of Princeton passed away on Monday, October
28, 2013 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
He was born
on October 16, 1947 in Evansville, IN.
He was a
member of the Hillside United Methodist Church. He was a retired local business
owner and restaurateur. He served as a member of the Gibson County Tourism
Board, Gibson County Kiwanis and the Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed spending time
with family and friends.
He is
survived by his wife of 47 years, Karen Ray of Ft. Branch; 2 daughters, Vicki
(Mark) Wilson of Indianapolis and Jacki (Kevin) Damm of Newburgh; 5 grandchildren, Nicholas and Kimberly
Hazel and Michael, Nicole and Madison Damm; 5
step-great grandchildren; and 5 sisters, Donna (Marty) Davis, Marcia (Stephen)
Page, Vernalee (Bob) Mitchell, Susan (John) Viray and Beth (Keith) Carpenter.
He was
preceded in death by his mother, Joan Ray; his fathers, Gus Ray and Vernon Ooley; and a brother, Keith Ooley.
Funeral
Services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Colvin
Funeral Home in Princeton, officiated by Pastor Chris Neikirk.
Burial will be at the Baker Cemetery in Boonville, IN.
Visitation
will be from 10 AM until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
