Bertha Grace (Ahlemann) Doerner, 96 of Somerville, passed away Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013 at The Waters of Princeton.

She was born Dec. 23, 1916 in Gibson County and lived her lifetime in Somerville. Daughter of Fred W & Minnie A (Siebrase) Ahlemann. She was retired after working 40 years as a cook at Somerville School. She attended the Somerville Wesleyan Church her entire life.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Marcia Doerner of Somerville; a daughter, Mary Siekman of Mackey; 7 grandchildren, Kent, Keith, Aaron and Tonya Doerner, Michelle (Doerner) Passwaiter, Greg and Jeff Siekman; 24 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Blanche Cousert, Gladys Riley and Bernice Riley; also a son-in-law, Terry Siekman.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with Rev. Monty Mahoney officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 – 11 a.m. Tuesday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home.
