James E. Pinkston, 76 of
Sullivan, and formerly of Ft. Branch, went home to be with the Lord on Monday,
Sept. 30, 2013, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute.
He was born May 14, 1937,
in Haubstadt to Ervin and Alma (Dimmett) Pinkston.
He was a graduate of
Haubstadt High School, Lockyear Business College and
attended Brescia College. He proudly served in the United States Navy
from 1956 to 1960.
Jim was a member of the
First Christian Church in Sullivan and a lifetime member of the Enon General Baptist Church in Princeton. He loved to
share his beautiful voice with others and is now singing in God’s choir.
He retired from
Siemens Manufacturing in Princeton in 1982 and became assistant director of
security at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville before retiring.
Jim is survived by
his wife, Joanne Pinkston of Sullivan; his children, whom he was proud of,
Deborah Pinkston of Princeton and Robert (Bonnie) Pinkston of
Patoka; sisters, Joann Ruby of Evansville and Joyce (Jerry) Lafenhagen of Ft. Branch; his beloved
grandchildren, Brandon and Heather Pinkston; and many nieces and nephews whom
he dearly loved.
Funeral services
will be held at the graveside, per Jim’s wishes, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct.
3, 2013 at the Walnut Hill Cemetery in Ft. Branch, with Pastor David Kelle officiating. Burial will follow the
services.
The will be no
public visitation. Military graveside services will be held by retired military
veterans.
