Kenneth W. Greubel,
71, of Princeton, passed away Sept. 5, 2013 after a brief illness with lung
cancer.
Ken resided in Princeton and was a
member of St Stephens United Church Christ in Warrenton.
Ken and his late wife, Jeanette Greubel, successfully ran Hallmark card and gift shops in
Princeton and Madisonville, Ky., for over 20 years before he served as a
dispatcher for the Indiana State Police in Evansville.
In 1997, Ken was elected as Gibson
County Auditor and served two terms after which he was named Gibson County
Director of Safety in 2005 and retired in 2009.
Ken was a member of many
organizations including the Princeton Kiwanis, Haubstadt Chamber of Commerce,
United Way, the Board of Directors of Gibson General
Hospital and had served as an active member of the Democrat Central Committee.
He enjoyed playing golf, traveling and bird watching.
Ken is survived by his wife, Sandy,
son, Darrin of Newnan, Ga., daughter and son-in-law Mindi
and Brad Morris, mother, Marcella Greubel Moutoux, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Benny and Berniece Miley, brother Ron Greubel,
and five grandchildren Marissa, Milon, and Malynn Greubel and Drew and Grace
Morris, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Charlie and Helen Adamson, and several
nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ken was preceded in death by his
first wife, Jeanette Stunkel Greubel,
father Willard Greubel, an infant daughter,
sister-in-law Lela Greubel, brother-in-law, Michael
Miley, father-in-law and mother-law, Elmer and Katherine Stunkel.
Funeral services will be at the
Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 10 a.m. with Pastor
Jim Harrell officiating. Burial will follow at St. Stephens United Church of
Christ Cemetery in Warrenton, Indiana.
Visitation will be at Colvin Funeral
Home, Princeton, on Monday, Sept. 9 from 3-9 p.m.
