Lucy Mae Maikranz, 75 of
Oakland City went to be with the Lord Saturday July 6, 2013 at Gibson General
Hospital in Princeton.
She was born in Willis Creek, KY, Feb. 17, 1938 to
Otis and Elsie (Malone) Strunk and had moved to
Spencer IN at the age of six.
She had lived in Ft. Branch, Princeton and
Allendale, IL before moving to Oakland City area where she has lived for the
past eight years. She was retired and had been a cook for several restaurants
though out the years.
Lucy is survived by her husband Tom Maikranz, 3 sons, James Chandler of Spencer; Jack Chandler
of Mt. Carmel; Harold Pratt of Florida; 5 step children, Tanya (John)
McCullough of Oakland City; Cheryl (Chris) Barrett of Evansville; Brian (Lisa) Maikranz of Oakland City; Krista (Jack) Graupner
of Evansville; and Tricia (Tege) Lewis of Oakland
City; 2 brothers, James Strunk and Tom Strunk of Spencer 3 sisters, Sue Terrell, Teresa Strunk and Helen Adkins of Spencer, 2 grandchildren, 12
step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren, her special friends, Rev.
Cliff and Rosemary Clark.
She was a member of the Union Mission Church of East
Mt Carmel, where she taught Sunday school for 6 to 12 year olds. She loved
working for the Lord. Her favorite television program was Son Life Broadcast of
the Jimmy Swaggart Ministry.
She had a heart for the hurting and down and out
people, always ready to give that others would have. One of her favorite
scriptures was Matt. 6:33 “But seek you first the Kingdom of God and His
righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.” Her family, church family and friends will
miss her and we will see you just inside the gate of that heavenly home. Thanks
for being my buddy and support in the work of the Lord. You will never be
forgotten.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday July 10,
2013 at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with Rev. Cliff Clark and
Pastor Tim Bobbitt officiating.
Burial will be in the Providence Cemetery near
Francisco. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until
service time on Wednesday at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home.
