Raymond S. Hornback,
89, of Princeton, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2013, at Gibson General Hospital
Skilled Nursing Facility in Princeton.
He was born May 21, 1924 in Harden County,
Ky., to Sylvester and Minnie (Johnson) Hornback.
He worked for Princeton Farms for 32 years
and then worked for Cinergy-PSI Gibson Station for 29 ½ years, retiring at age
85. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and a U.K. basketball fan.
He is survived by his son, Wonga Maurice (Debe) Hornback of Johnson, Iowa;
six grandchildren, Wonga Rae Hornback, Krista Lynn
Lung, Brian Lee Hornback, Natalie Nicole White,
Jessica Marie Clevenger and Kriss Morris; 15 great
grandchildren, Kassie and Austin Hornback, Drake
Lung, Lexi Hornback, Sara Hornback,
Justin White, Gavin Lung, Jacob Clevenger, James Hornback,
Dillon Hornback, Wilburn Clevenger, Courtney White,
and Meghan, Jessica and Sydney Morris; and one great-great granddaughter, Ava
Bates.
He was preceded in death by his parents;
wife, Edwinda Hornback in
2011, son, Edwin Ray Hornback in 2008, great
grandson, Tobias Simpson; and a brother, James Hornback.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.
Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, officiated by Rev.
Larry Meadows. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery near Princeton.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday
at Colvin Funeral Home. Military graveside services by retired military
veterans.
