Vera I. Henderson, 88, of Owensville, passed away at Transcendant Health Care in Owensville Monday, July 1, 2013.

She was born to Everett and Lola (Tyer) Griggs June 3, 1925 in Lawrenceville, Ill. 

She is survived by two children, Melissa Dike, and David Henderson, Both of Owensville, sisters Marlene Berry of Olney, Ill., Vada Doty of Kankakee, Ill., Valetta Ludtring of Denver, Colo., Brothers Sam Griggs of Sumner, Ill., John Griggs of Branson, Mo., Jay Griggs of Sumner, eight grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. 

Services will be Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Stodghill Funeral Home with burial in Owensville Cemetery. Reverend Scott Burr will be officiating.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 2, 2013 from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and again from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home on Wednesday.
