Louis H. Carie, 78,
of Vincennes, passed away at Gibson General Hospital, Princeton, at 5:50 a.m.
Saturday, June 20, 2013.
He was born July 24, 1934 in Vincennes the
son of August C. Sr. & Mary Louise Mouzin Carie.
He married Adaline
L. Green and they made their life together until her death June 19, 2000.
He and his wife owned the Knox County
Abstract company and he worked for many years at PPG Glass and D&H Glass.
He was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church. His passions include his
family first and baseball. In his youth he was a avid baseball player as were his brothers. He
helped organize baseball leagues and umpired the games.
His is survived by his family, Randy Carie, and his wife Kim of Patoka, Rosemarie Collins, and
her husband Steve of Princeton, grandchildren, Fallon Carie,
Rachel Murry and her companion, Amanda, step
grandchildren, Zach Collins & Rachel Collins, a great grandson Easton Ryan Murry and three step great grandchildren. He is also
survived by his brothers, Harold Carie of Vincennes,
August C. Carie Jr, and his
wife Joyce of Vincennes and Lawrence “Windy” Carie,
and his wife Barbara of Effingham, Ill., and a sister Mary Lou Snider of
Vincennes. He is also survived by his sisters in law, Pauline Carie and Monica Carie both of
Vincennes and Betty Carie of Johnson City, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Adaline L. Carie, a grandson,
Ryan Murry, his parents, his brothers, Bernard Carie, Raphael Carie, Francis
“Bud” Carie, Orville Carie,
Donnie Carie and Richard Carie
in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Fr. John
Schipp and Deacon Earl Ruppel
officiating.
He will be laid to rest next to his wife
Adaline in the St. Thomas Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on
Tuesday from 5 to 8 p. at the Duesterberg-Fredrick
Funeral Home.
