Gene A. Ellis, 87 of Hazleton passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at his home.
He was born June 24, 1925 in Hazleton.
He had lived in Hazleton all of his life. He was a retired Tool and Die maker
working for Potter and Brumfield and later Siemens Corporation. He served in
the U.S. Marines during W.W. II and he served in Saipan and Iwo Jima
where he was part of the invasion.
He is survived by three sons,
Mike (Kyle) Ellis of Hazleton, Mark (Lynn) Ellis of Hazleton and Marvin (Heidi) Ellis of Dugger; two step-daughters, Tammy Fetcher and Beverly
Belcher both of Hazleton; five grandchildren, Chad and Bryan Ellis, Andrea Devoy
and Brandon and Evan Ellis; and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Mike Tarner officiating. Burial
will be in the Hazleton Community Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
Military Graveside services will be provided by the Retired Military Veterans.
