Ross E. Thurston, 64, passed away Friday, May 10, 2013 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.

He was born March 11, 1949 in Vincennes.  He was employed by Duke Energy and a member of the I.B.E.W.

Ross is survived by his wife, Paula Thurston; two sons, Neal (Marlee) Thurston of Mascoutah, Ill. and Danny (Kathi) Thurston of Princeton; six daughters, Catherine “Betsy” Thurston of Lawrenceburg, Ky., Mia (Ron) Linxwiler of Henderson, Ky., Millette (Tony) Washburn of Princeton, Michele (Eric) Beckel of Princeton, Misti (Greg) Moen of Paxton, Ill. and Mende Gash of Princeton;  18 grandchildren, Zach, Nick, Alex, Meghan, Leah, Cassilyn, Ryan, Brooke, Jeffrey, Courtney, Hunter, Jacob, Paris, Christopher, Gregory, Alisyn, Miranda and Triniti; two brothers, Lester (Linda) Thurston of Vincennes and Lonnie (Lois) Thurston of Clinton, Tenn.;  sister-in-law, Annette Thurston of Oakland City.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Leah Tyree; mother, Rozella; father, Lester and brother, Rick.

Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Rev. Larry Meadows officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Colvin Funeral Home.
