Ralph E. “Gene” Smith, 90 of Princeton, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Gibson General Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility.
He was born Jan. 7, 1923 in Princeton to Charles Verner and Mae
(Swain) Smith.
He had lived in Princeton his entire life and was a retired salesman last working for Pioneer
Seeds. He was a veteran of W.W. II serving in the U.S. Army. He attended Bethlehem General Baptist Church in Ft. Branch. He led choirs and congregational singing his entire
adult life and sung with his wife and children at many different church events.
He also enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by his
children, Donna Smith of Princeton; Cheryl Smith of Bicknell and Kevin Smith of Princeton.
He was preceded in death by
his parents and his wife Beulah J. Smith August 25, 2012.
Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Rev. Ron Austin officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbia “White” Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12
p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
